About

John Paul College was founded in 1979 as a result of a merger of two previously established schools: Stella Maris Girls’ College (1968) and Marianist Boys’ College (1973). The establishment of John Paul College was supported through a bequest from OJ Olsen secured by Fr Joseph Kealy, former parish priest of St Francis Xavier’s, Frankston.

John Paul College is a coeducational Years 7–12 school with a broad curriculum serving five parishes in the Frankston district. Emphasis is on open entry at Year 7, including provision of assistance to students with individual learning needs. There is a well-established tradition of ensuring pathways for all students, including university entrance, TAFE programs and work-based training programs. While the school gives priority in enrolment to Catholic children from the regional parishes, a number of places are made available to children from other Catholic parishes and to children from other Christian faith traditions.
