About

Open Access College (OAC) provides external learning experiences and a complete education to a range of students who – for a variety of reasons – cannot attend a traditional school.

Teaching and learning at OAC occurs through:

a blended approach of online, virtual classroom lessons in small groups
face to face opportunities eg workshops, excursions, camps, laboratory sessions
access to year level and subject specific web sites
custom designed support materials.
External education may be suitable for:

a rural and remote student whose home is geographically isolated
a student who is unable to access a government for various reasons, including travelling, vocational study, work commitments or medical conditions
a student wishing to access a specific subject not available at their current enrolled school
an adult student aged 18 years to under 21 years wishing to complete their studies
a student who has a current exemption from school for home education.
Refer to the full list of enrolment criteria here.

OAC has two campuses:

Marden Campus catering for students from reception to year 12, and adults
Port Augusta Campus catering for reception to year 7 students who are geographically remote.
