Army Troops Companies RAE
These were essentially a labour force for the 'Garrison Engineer' function. To carry out field and construction engineering works in base areas, Army Troops Companies were formed in each command and military district. Each company had three construction sections (later platoons) as well as two electrical and mechanical sections which could operate and maintain power and water supply systems and man a workshop for equpment repair. In each case they were supported by a workshop and park company that held stores, operated a large workshop and provided plant items to be used by the army troops companies.
