111 Light / later HQ Milne Bay AA Group / HQ 5AA Gp
111 Light Anti Aircraft Regiment was raised in Sydney at Canterbury Racecourse in June 1942 comprisng A,B, and C Bty. That didn't last long, quickly being renumbered 156, 157 and 158 LAA Bty in July.
156 and 157 Bty were despatched for service in New Guinea never to be seen in the Regiment again.
The perpetual changes in compisition and command status continued unabated until July 1943 and the formation of Composite AA Regiments.
HQ 111 became HQ Milne Bay AA Gp, with its predecessor in that role becoming HQ 2nd/3rd Comp AA Regt.
Milne Bay AA Gp waqs disbanded in September 1944.
