About This Unit
The purpose of this classification is to provide for service personnel of Australian origin who for various reasons enlisted direct into British units. Many Australians were residing or studying in Great Britain on the outbreak of war, particularly medical practitioners and students.
Rather than create table entries for the very large numbers of British units, it is intended that unit names be entered as free text in the person page biography panel.
