About This Unit
The 24th Anti-Tank Company was an Australian Army unit formed in August 1940 at Melville Camp, Western Australia, to support the 24th Infantry Brigade during World War II. It moved to Northam Camp for training.
The unit was part of the 2nd Australian Imperial Force (2ndAIF).
The unit was associated with the 2/28th Battalion and was part of the 2/3rd Anti-Tank Regiment during certain operations.
It served in the North African campaign, including the Siege of Tobruk in 1941, before being involved in actions in the Pacific.
