2nd/10th Field Regiment, 8th Division 2nd AIF

The 2nd/10th Field Regiment was a field artillery regiment allocated to the 8th Division.  Accordingly it was caught up in the disastrous Malaya Singapore campaign in early 1942.  Most of the men of the Regiment were captured in Singapore and endured three and half years of privation mistreatment and neglect. About 25% of those captured died in captivity;  the remainder like their collegues suffered adverse health effects for the rest of their lives.
