The "Adelaide Rifles" Battalion Shooting Team, with Captain Miles Beevor seated in the centre c 1912. They are equipped with what appear to be brand new SMLE No 1 Mk III* rifles possibly straight from the then new Small Arms Factory at Lithgow. A couple of the NCOs have seen Boer War or other British Colonial service. Miles Beevor was acting CO of the Battalion in the latter stages of ANZAC and later commanded the 52nd battalion in France until he was wounded at Pozieres. He was repatriated to Australia.

A colourised version of AC0066, a photograph taken in the same sequence as AC0068, although the aircraft appear in different orde . It shows two key colour schemes applied to RAAF Hudsons immediately prior to and during the early stages of WW2. A16-3 is painted matt black underneath, the others a sky blue. A16-47 is painted foliage green on the upper surfaces, the other two have a disruptive pattern with dark earth applied. A16-38 farthest from the camera, later served with No. 32 Squadron and was heavily damaged in March 1942 by enemy action in New Guinea. After repair it was issued to 1 OTU but was lost in an accident due to structural failure.

Corporal Phil Davey, VC, MM. He won the 10th Battalion's third Victoria Cross at Merris, northern France, on 28th June 1918. He destroyed a machine gun that that moments before inflicted casualties on other 10th Battalion colleagues in a neighbouring platoon, including Platoon Commander Lieutenant Jack McInerney.

Aircrew of No. 40 Squadron RAF don their flying equipment before boarding their Vicker Wellington B Mark X at Foggia Main, Italy, for the last night bombing operation undertaken by the type. Six Wellingtons accompanied a force of Consolidated Liberators making an attack on the marshalling yards at Treviso on the night of 13/14 March 1945. Service number 18488 George Bentley Pegler, a staff member of the South Australian Harbors Board. George enlisted in the AIF on 26 October 1917 and served in France with the Australian Army Medical Corps. He returned to Australia in 1919. From 1923 to his death in 1950 he held the position of Harbourmaster at Cowell.

Outdoor portrait of 2600 Corporal George Smith Holliday, C Company, 35th Battalion, at the memorial erected near Ash Crater to members of the 35th Battalion who fell in the battle of Messines on 7 June 1917. A memorial similar to this one, less the names, was erected by the Battalion Pioneers near Gooseberry Farm, just west of Messines, in June 1917, but was destroyed by enemy shellfire. The Fromelles Memorial Park was opened on the 4th July 1998. The centrepiece is a bronze statue depicting Sgt Simon Frazer, a 40 year old farmer from Victoria, of the 57th Battalion AIF. Whilst he was recovering wounded on the battlefield after the battle, Fraser heard a wounded man shout out “Don't forget me, cobber.” Fraser was later commissioned in the field as an officer. He was killed at Bullecourt the following year and has no known grave. His name is on the wall at Villers Brettoneaux.

Australian Engineers, of the 15th Field Company, making crosses for their fallen comrades amid the ruins of Ypres. Out of the ancient oak, which formed the doors and interior fittings of the historic Cloth Hall, pounded to wreckage by German bombardments, they fashioned many monuments to the men who made the supreme sacrifice. 31 October, 1917.

The sinking of troopship SS 'Ballarat' which took place on 25 April 1917 in the English Channel. A submarine torpedoed the 'Ballarat', which was carrying Australian troops from Melbourne to England. Efforts made to tow the ship to shallow water failed and she sank off The Lizard the following morning. No lives were lost of the 1752 souls on board.
