Details
The Details page is where you can add basic information about a serviceperson's biography. Make sure that all addditions are accurate and verifiable. Please provide us with references for where you got the information or it won't be accepted
Also please write in 'Sentence Case'. This is a capitalisation style in which only the first word of a sentence and proper nouns are capitalised, with the rest of the words in lowercase.
1. The first stage of editing is the ‘Details’ page. Using the text boxes, a person’s name, nickname, date of birth, school etc. can be edited.
2. When entering in a person's school, please write out the full school name with no acronyms and location, including the state the school resided in. For example: "Christian Brothers College, Adelaide South Australia, Australia" rather than "CBC".
3. When editing a person’s Hometown and Cemetery, there is an option to add either if they are not already listed in the Virtual War Memorial system. To do this, click the red button labelled ‘Add Town’ and/or the red button labelled ‘Add Cemetery’. The submission will be reviewed by a moderator and added to the profile where appropriate.
3. When you enter a location such as a place of death, please use the name that place had at the time of the event. An example of this could be Ottoman Empire rather than Turkey during the First World War, or Malaya rather than Malaysia during the Second World War.
4. In order to save your submission, click the red button labelled ‘Save’.
