Son of Isaac Unsworth and Lucy Caswell Unsworth nee Read of 'Parkhurst', Warwick Road, Bowes Park, London, England. Brother of Isaac Unsworth who returned to Australia on 1 February 1919 having served with the Australian Flying Corps
31 January 1916 - enlisted at Casula with the 18th Battalion and with the rank of Private
9 November 1916 - wounded. Wound to the right shoulder
9 January 1917 - transferred to the 2nd Pioneer Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 6 October 1919 aboar HT Pakeha disembarking on 24 November at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
17 Janaury 1920 - discharged at the 2nd Military District
During 1928c Roy married Ada Camila Lillian Baldwin in Victoria
