SERGT. NORMAN JAMES UPRIGHT, enlisted from Liverpool a year and 7
months ago, and is reported killed in action in France on April 5th last. He was the only son of Mrs. Alice Upright, of Devonshire, England. He left for the front in December, 1915. 

Before enlisting at Liverpool he was employed by Messrs. James
Stedman, Ltd., of Sydney, and was a member of tho Edgecliff Rifle Club. He was wounded in June, 1910, but remained on duty, and was
wounded again at Poziceres the following month.
