Henry's or Harry as he was known, parents were James Cavendish and Annie Alice Richmond. Henry was working as a farm labourer at Harrison Pocket, Strathpine when he enlisted at Brisbane on 15 March 1916. He married Mabel Carson in 1916 before he left to go overseas. They had one child, Robert born in 1925. Henry died age 71.
