Charles Edward Edson was born on the 22nd of August 1888 and raised in Lyndoch South Australia. Later on at the age of 26, Edson joined the AIF as a Driver.

Before the war Edson lived with his parents Thomas Edson and Eliza Edson and his three brothers; Ernest William Edson, Thomas Anthony Edson, and Robert Ridley Edson. Charles Edson worked as a Farmer until he enlisted in 1915.

In October 1915 Edson enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force. He was placed in the 9th Light Horse Regiment, then later transferred to the 5th Divisional Ammunition Column. Edson returned to Australia in July 1919 and was discharged in September 1919.

After the war Edson married to Elizabeth Allan Henderson. Together they had 3 children Annie Jean Edson, Charles Edson, and Patricia Margaret Edson. Sadly, as of December 6th 1968, at the age of 80, Charles Edward Edson died from natural causes. He is buried in Mildura (Nichols Point) Public Cemetery, in Victoria Australia.
