BODY IN HARBOUR
The Water Police late last night recovered the body of a man floating near the swimming pool at Manly. The police believe the body to be that of Richard Seiler, 67, who lived in a boarding-house in Clarence Street, city.
2/11 Left of
£1500 Bank
A man whose body was recovered from the waters of Manly Cove on December 7, had a bank account in 1938 of £1500, which had dwindled to 2/11 at the time of his death. This was stated at the City Coroner's Court today, at the inquest on Johannes Benjamin SeIler, 67, also known as Richard Seiler, of 96, Crown-street, Sydney. Mrs. Tresa Smyth said that Seiler had lived at her home for the past six years. Just before that he had won a third share of the first prize in the State Lottery. He had been a wharf laborer, but immediately gave up work, and had not worked since. The City Coroner (Mr. R, G. Cookson), returned an open finding.
