Thomas Alexander MCGUIRK  was born near Goulburn on 5th February 1893 was a casual tram conductor in Sydney for less than a year when he joined the Expeditionary Forces there in August 1914.  Wounded in action at Gallipoli, he died aboard SS ‘Derfflinger’ on 28 April 1915 and was buried at sea the following day. 

His mother was granted a pension by the authorities, and he is remembered on the Lone Pine Memorial.
