Son of Daniel O'Neill and Lavinia O'Neill of 'Glenview', Cumnock, NSW.
Brother of William Francis O'Neill who was killed in action on 3 May 1917 while serving with the 19th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
