Son of John Kinsman Osborn and Mary Ann Osborn nee Clarke of Carrington Street, Adelaide, SA.

Served his three year bakery apprenticwship with W.H. Bishop & Son of Unley, SA

Commenced return to Australia on 7 June 1918 aboard HT Essex disembarking on 1 August 1918 at Sydney for onward travel to Adelaide

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 11 November 1920 Cromwell married Doris Golding at the residence of  Rev. J. Wiltshire of Torrensville, SA.
