Biography

Studio portrait of 1287 Sergeant Robert Clair Jones, 3rd Light Horse Regiment who was a 21 year old clerk from Port Adelaide, South Australia when he enlisted on 20 January 1915. He embarked for overseas as a Private with the 8th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 26 August 1915 aboard RMS Morea. Following active service in Egypt, Sinai, Gaza and Jordan, he returned to Australia on 26 June 1919.
