Stephen Prosser BRETT was born in Roma, Queensland on 21st June 1892

His parents were William Thomas BRETT & Selina JONES

He enlisted in Toowoomba on 22nd September, 1915 and embarked with the 26th Infantry Battalion, 10th Reinforcements on the ship HMAT Commonwealth on the 28th March, 1916

Stephen was Killed in Action in Belgium on 9th October, 1917 during the Battle of Passchendale - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial

His counsin William George TRIX (SN 200) also served in WW1 and was Killed in Action on 29th July, 1916
