Proprietor of the Alstonville and Rous Record

Yesterday the sad news was received in Alstonville that Pte. R.H. B. Campbell, at one time proprietor of the Alstonville and Rous "Record," was killed in action in France on July 17. Pte. Campbell was a prominent resident of Alstonville and occupied the position of Lieutenant in charge of the infantry for some time. He was also one of the instructors at the Enoggera camp, Queensland, and did special duty in connection with the exemption court. He was a student at the Duntroon Military College. At Alstonville he was very popular.
News has been received at Alstonville of the death at the front on July 7, of Private R. H. B. Campbell, late proprietor ot the "Alstonville Record." He was a prominent Freemason, and was churchwarden of the Anglican Church. His mother and sister reside at Burwood.
