Son of Daniel Hick and Mary Hick nee Lewis of 'Grahm Vale', Shepparton, Victoria. Brother of Stanley Hick who was killed in action on 16 September 1915 while serving with the 4th Light Horse Regiment and is buried in the Shell Green Cemetery. Plot 1, Row H, Grave 7 and Charles Daniel Hick who returned on Australia on 23 July 1919 having served with the 58th Battalion disembarking on 11 September 1919

Commenced return to Australia 1 April 1919 aboard HT Shropshire disembarking on 15 May 1919
