Son of Frederick John O'Neale and Jane O'Neale nee Lynch of Brunswick Street, North Fitzroy, Victoria.

Commened return to Australia via Taranto, Italy on 8 October 1918 aboard Kaiser-i-Hind then transhipped aboard HT Port Sydney at Suez disembarking in Melbourne on 3 December 1918

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Vitory Medal

Post war he started his own business of George O'Neale, Painter and Paperhanger in St. George's Road, Northcote, Victoria

During 1919c Francis married Irene Grace Robinson in Victoria.
