"...232 Driver Charles Allen, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, of Alexandria, NSW. A plumber prior to enlisting in August 1914, Dvr Allen embarked from Sydney, with the 2nd Battery, a board HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 18 October 1914. After further training and service in Egypt and Suez, he arrived in France for service on the Western Front on 27 March 1916. Dvr Allen was killed in action at Flers, France on 12 November 1916.
