Thomas Beard (my grand-uncle) was a confectioner, aged 38 at enlistment, lived with parents at Dulwich Hill, trained at Liverpool and Cootamundra; date of embarkation for overseas 17-11-16; arr Davenport 20-01-1917.
Sent to France arr 10-05-1917, thence Belgium, stayed in service during 1919 in England, part service with Field Ambulance; Returned to Port Darwin 28-07-1919; Discharged 4-09-1919, no disabilities.
