Trooper Leslie Duncan Read No.408, 13th Australian Light Horse Regiment, Victoria. A 22 year old Farmer from Orbost, Victoria. He enlisted on 15 December 1914; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 3 July 1919. Served in the Middle East, Gallipoli and on the Western Front Subsequently enlisted in the AIF in 1939 and served in WW2. 

On returning from the UK in 1919, he continued logging then moved to Melbourne and began life as a panel beater. Lived in Bentliegh, married and was the father of four daughters. Served in WW2 then returned to family life in Melbourne. He lived his final years in a veterans home till the age of 90.
