15 Jun 1918: Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 1352, 14th Infantry Battalion, Discharged for the first time in 27 October 1916 as medically unfit due to rheumatism and defective eye sight. He re-enlisted in April 1918 but was discharged about 7 weeks later for the same reason

Commenced return to Australia on 10 July 1916 aboard HT Clan Mcgillavry

After returnng he was employed by the Forestry Department until 11 July 1918 and later the Wheat commission until 24 November 1919
