Husband of Laura Quayle of Ethel Street, Harris Park, NSW.
Prior to enlisting he had served with the Parramatta Light Horse for twelve months and had been a member of the St. George's Rifle Club.
Failed to re-embark HT Anchise at Capetown on 21 September 1916 but embarked HT Botanist on 23 September 1916.
Returned to Australia on 15 May 1917 aboard HT Beltana
