Husband of Margart Cooper of nee Hartley 'Ecila', Raiway Street, Thornbury, Victoria. John and Margaret married in Victory during 1890c. Father of Hartley George Cooper who return to Austalia on 10 February 1920 having served with the 14th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 21 November 1916 aboard HT Ayrshire disembarking on 20 December 1916
