Son of Henry Orgill and Sarah Ann Orgill nee Hawkes of Scott Street, Dandenong, Victoria.

Brother of Arthur Garfield Orgill who was killed in action on 11 April 1917 while serving with the 5th Battalion and is buried in the Vaulx Hill Cemetery, Plot 1, Row G, Grave 21; Ernest Alfred Orgill who was killed in action on 23 March 1917 while serving with the 23rd Battaiion and is buried in the Beaumetz Cross Roads Cemetery, Row A, Grave 43.
