Clarence Stanley Cook was a coachbuilder from Clarence Park, South Australia. On the 5th of July 1915, at the age of 22, he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force as a Private. He had no previous military experience and no wife or family of his own, and yet he joined the war effort courageously.

On either the 18th of November, 1915 or the 24th of November, 1915 Clarence Stanley Cook embarked Adelaide, South Australia with the 32nd Battalion on either the HMAT A2 'Geelong', on 18 November 1915, or the HMAT A13 'Katuna', on 24 November 1915.

He was badly wounded at Fromelles on 19 July 1916, in the foot and face. This kept him out of action until January 1917. He was wounded for the second time on 1 August 1918, in the arm, while also suffering the effects of gas.

After a total war service of 3 years and 349 days, Clarence Stanley Cook began his return home to Australia from Portland on board the HT 'Nevesa'. And on the 18th of June 1919 he was dicharged in Adelaide. During the prediod of his enlistment Clarence Stanley Cook was awarded the medls of the 1914-15 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.

Clarence Stanley Cook passed away on the 8th of May, 1968 at the age of 74.
