"...1307a, Private Roy William Benfield, was born at Parkside, South Australia, on 19 May 1889. He enlisted at Oaklands, South Australia, on 1 December 1914 and served with the 16th Battalion at Gallipoli. He was wounded in action on 10 May 1915 and returned to Australia." - SOURCE (collections.slsa.sa.gov.au)
