Son of John and Agnes Woods of 'Huddersfield', Robinson Street, Moonee Ponds, Victoria

PRIVATE JOHN W. WOODS (killed in action) was nearly 24 years of age, and the only son of Mr and Mrs John Woods, of "Huddersfleid," Robinson street, Moonee Ponds. He was a member of the First  Expeditionary Force, and went as company clerk in D Company, 14th Battalion. Later he gave the position up, and joined his comrades in the ranks. He was educated at the Moonee Ponds and Essendon State schools, and had just completed 10 years with Messrs Mason, Firth and M'Cutcheon, of Bank place, city.
