Enlisted 3 April 1916 at Adelaide, South Australia.
Unit embarked from Adelaide on board HMAT A19 Afric on 9 June 1916.
Served at Western Front.
Returned to Australia 27 August 1917 per Pakeha.
Discharged medically unfit 14 December 1917; senility and deafness.
On his return he was driven under an arch of flags and a banner of welcome in a motor car at Kapunda, with a function held by the Methodist Red Cross, after which he was driven to his home.
