Harry Clive Cox was the son of George Frederick and Sophie Cox, of Narromine NSW. Both parents gave their consent to Harry enlisting as soon as he turned 18 in September 1916. The father George Frederick Cox was the editor of the Narromine News at the time. The father had also been married several times and one of Harry’s older half-brothers, 1931 Pte. Leslie George Cox 13th Battalion AIF, had been killed in action at Gallipoli on the 22 August 1915, aged 25.
