Husband of Ellen (Nellie) Symons nee O'Sullivan of Sheridan Street, Cairns, QLD. Father of William Cecil Symons and Mildred Eileen Symons. William and Ellen married in QLD on 22 June 1901
Commenced return to Australia on 5 November 1917 aboard HT Themistocles disembarking on the 3 January 1918 at Sydney then travelled overland for three weeks to reach Brisbane
