Enlisted: 23 October 1914, Ernest Enlisted in Sydney when he was 23. He trained at Broadmeadows in Melbourne and embarked from Melbourne on the Ulysses. The ship left Albany in December 1914 and arrived in Egypt in February 1915. Under Col. John Monash the 13th took part in the landings and arrived late (around 9pm) on the 25th April 1915. Within the first week Ernest was in position at Quinns Post where he was wounded. He returned home via Lemnos & Egypt with ongoing life long disabilities, he had lost the use of both his right hand and arm and was discharged on the 29/07/15 The WW2 enlistment & Discharge dates & numbers are nothing to do with this Ernest Wentworth King.
