Armistice Day...100 years since the guns fell silent.

100 years

Remembering you today (31 Oct 2017)... for the sacrifice you made

...Lest We Forget

Joseph William Smith - My Great Uncle

I did not know my Uncle Joseph but his sister Rebecca was my great grandmother.
Today I am thinking of my great uncle. The sacrifice he made on that day in Beersheba and his contribution to the freedoms we enjoy today.
I hope he lies at peace with his mates. I hope to visit him in Israel one day.

"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Anne (your great-niece)
