Biography

Henry Armitage Green was born in 1873 Forbes NSW to parents Denis and Mary Jane Green. His mother’s maiden name was Smith, sister to Robert Burdett Smith (1837-1895) solicitor and politician and Henry Armitage Smith J.P. (1835-1927).

Harry had made his way to South Australia when the war broke out, and was 41 years of age. He enlisted stating his age to be 38 years and put an "E" on the end of his surname, HIS NOK was his brother Robert Burdett Green(e). His sister Ida Eleanor Green who was 40 years of age signed up as a Staff Nurse and also put an "E" on the end of her surname.
