THE LATE LIEUTENANT C. G. WHITEFORD.

Mr. and Mrs. George Whiteford, of Petersburg, have been officially informed that their only son, Lieutenant Clarence George Whiteford, was killed in action in France on February 25. He enlisted in August, 1914, and went to Egypt that year. He went through the campaign at Gallipoli and then on to France, where he was in action all the while save for ten days' holiday in England last December. His death wound was the first he received in action. He was 23 years of age. Previous to enlisting he was employed at the loco. sheds, Petersburg, as coal-crane driver. He was a member of   the Druids' Lodge.
