Private George Arthur Henry Clover (Service No:VX33012) enlisted in the AIF on 19 June 1940 and was attached to 2/24th Infantry Battalion on 16 November 1940 when he embarked with his Unit from Melbourne for the Middle East. Graded as Technical Storeman, Private Clover embarked from the Middle East for Melbourne on 1 January 1942, and was attached to 2/4 Tank Workshops in 1943. Private Clover was attached to 2/24th Infantry Battalion at Dischage (Medically Unfit) on 20 December 1943.

George was born in Mildura, Victoria in 1901, fourth of seven children of William Clover (b1859 at Indentured Head, Victoria) and Margaret Ann Ah King (b1876 in Landsborough, Victoria). William (a Farmer at Salbert in Swan Hill) and Margaret married in 1894 in Birchip, Victoria where they lived until 1909 when they settled in Ouyen - William was a Farmer. Margaret died in 1914 and William remained at Ouyen until retiring to Melbourne in the late 1920s.

George worked in Melbourne as a Labourer and Boiler Attendant before enlisting in the Army in 1940. Following his Discharge, he worked as a Labourer in Melbourne before moving to NSW in the early 1950s, where he worked as a Labourer in the Riverina and Sydney. George died in 1972.
