Son of James and Margaret ALLAN, 'Blackwood', Massey Street Kogarah, NSW
Walter served in Gallipoli and contracted illness in August 1915 at Lone Pine and was invalided to England, recovered and rejoined his unit in France. He participated in all engagements until cessation of hostilities.
