He was 26 and the son of Duncan Gregor and Katherine MacGilp, of Ardfern, Lochgilphead, Scotland.
He is remembered on the Ardfern War Memorial which stands in front of Craignish Parish Church on the south side of the village. by the side of the B8002 which branches off the main A816 Oban-Lochgilphead Road, on the west coast of Argyll.The kirk was built in the 1730s. Craignish Old Parish Church is also known as Kilmory Chapel,
