Thorold Alfred BATH was born in 1896 in St Arnaud, Victoria
His parents were Alfred Paul BATH and Frances Cranwill GREWAR
He enlisted in Melbourne on 15th March, 1916 with the 10th Machine Gun Company and embarked from Melbourne on the HMAT Ascanius on 27th May, 1916
Thorold served at the Western Front and was wounded near Armentieres on 24th December, 1916 - he died the same day of gunshot wounds and a compound fracture of the skull at the 10th Australian Field Ambulance Station in France
He is buried in Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial - he was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal.
His brothers Horace McLaren BATH (SN V362061 ) & Harold Edmund BATH (V361622) both served in WW2 in the Army

BATH - In fond memory of my dearly loved pal and comrade, Thorold A Bath, died of wounds on Christmas Eve, 1916.
