Private S H Kohen
Private Stanley Herbert Kohen, who has been reported as wounded and in hospital in England, is a great-grandson of Mr Thomas Edmonds, who served under Lord Nelson on board the Victory at the battle of Trafalgar, and later on was in the 50th Foot Regiment. Private Kohen's grandfather served for 15 years in the East India Company, and was afterwards in the 95th Foot Regiment. He was wounded at the Crimean War, but lived to a good age in New South Wales. Private Kohen also has a brother at the front, and another brother who has just been invalided home.
