Biography

"Mrs. M. Silcock, Boundary street, West End, has received the sad news that her second youngest son, Private Horace Silcock was killed in action in France on 5th April, 1818. He was 20 years and 8 months of age. This brave lad enlisted at the age of 18 years, and left Australia 16 months ago." - from the Brisbane Telegraph 04 May 1918 (nla.gov.au)
