Place of enlistment: Perth, Australia.
James was a former pupil of Grove Academy, Broughty Ferry and is remembered on the school’s war memorial. The family resided at 78 Monifieth Rd, Broughty Ferry.
Dundee paid a high price for her war efforts. By the armistice, over 4,000 men and several women had made the ultimate sacrifice. Their names are recorded in the city’s Roll of Honour.
