Son of Thomas Lawson and Alice Victoria Lawson nee Winchcomb of 511 Lyons Street, Ballarat South, Victoria

Pte R. Lawson (killed) is a son of Mrs Lawson, who resides in Lyons street south. He was a member of the old 7th Regiment, and enlisted from Harrietville, where he was road-making when the war broke out. He was 30 years of age

Date of promotion to Lance Corporal is not clear
