He was born as Harold Tennyson CAIRNDUFF on 2nd March, 1893 in Hobart, Tasmania

His parents were Alfred Arthur George CAIRNDUFF & Mary Ann SUTCLIFFE

He enlisted in Brighton, Tasmania on 28th August, 1914 as a Bugler with the 12th Infantry Battalion and embarked from Hobart on 20th October, 1914 on the ship Geelong with the 12th Infantry Battalion A Company

He returned to Australia on 23rd September, 1918 and was discharged on 21st March, 1920 as medically unfit

Tennyson died in Hobart on 4th August, 1951 and was cremated at Cornelian Bay Crematorium
