GOSSIP.
A pleasant evening was spent on the 28th February at the residence of Mr and Mrs P. Pulbrook, of 404 Lyons street. Ballarat, to celebrate the home coming of their nephew. Private Walter Freeman, who has just returned from the front. The supper room was gaily decorated with Private Freeman's battalion colors, blue -and gold, 'and the flags of the Allies. The toasts included 'The King,' 'Our Guest,' 'The Parents and Grand Parents of our guest.' and 'The Australian Soldiers at Home and Abroad.' Games and music and song were indulged in till the small hours of the morning, when the gathering dispersed.

FREEMAN -JOY
Great interest centred round the very pretty wedding celebrated in the Methodist church on Wednesday evening, 11th January, when Olive May, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Joy. Brodribb was married to Walter (Bob) Freeman, formerly of Carnegie.
A large number of people assembled at the church, as the bride and bridegroom are very popular throughout the district.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Longthorne.
The bride who was given away by her mother, was daintily attired in a very pretty frock of ivory embroided tulle veil (lent by Mrs A Tawrs, of Newmerella, held in place by a bonnet of orange blossom. and the bridal bouquet of blue hydrangeas and asparagus fern. completed a charming toilette.
The bride was attended by her little sisters. Hilda looked very dainty in pale mauve silk and Ruby in creme silk prettily embroided.
Mr Clifford Freeman was best man
As the happy couple were leaving the church to the strains of the Wedding March, played by Mr. Wilton, Mrs M Lynch placed a dainty white horse-shoe on the arm of the bride. Assembled well-wishers, abundantly armed with confetti, heartly showered the bride and bridegroom as they passed through to the waiting car.
