Son of Rev. Robert and Rosa Emma Donaldson of Dalton Manse, Scotland. Next of kin was given as his sister Netta de Miremont of 42 Cadogan Square, London, England

He has previously worked in India, Africa, Amercia and Australia as an accountant and farrier

He was a keen footballer and an excellcent horseman.
